Definitely! The amount of money saved depends upon the type of film chosen and certain property-specific variables (location, climate, existing energy costs, HVAC system, etc…). After obtaining some basic energy unit costs for a given building, we can conduct a 3M™ Energy Audit to estimate the annual dollars saved by different film types.

Window tinting is an incredibly effective way to combat San Antonio's high temperatures. Our 3M™ films are designed to reject a significant amount of the sun's solar energy, which is the primary cause of heat buildup in your home, office, or car.

By blocking this heat, the film helps your air conditioning system work more efficiently, leading to lower energy bills and a more comfortable environment, especially during the long Texas summer.

Nothing completely stops fading. 3M™ window films are designed to help reduce the major causes of fading (ultra violet light, visible light, and solar heat), thus prolonging the life of your furnishings, perhaps as much as two to fiv

3M™ warranties its window films against bubbling, peeling, cracking or crazing, and discoloration. If a product proves defective, we will replace the film and reapply it free of charge. 3M™ also warrants against glass failure due to thermal shock fracture or seal failure (maximum value of $500 per window) caused as a direct result of applying 3M™ window films to the recommended types of glass. This failure must be reported within 60 months for thermal shock fracture or 40 months for seal failure if covered by original window manufacturer. You must pay a $25 consumer deductible or 5 percent of the replacement cost – whichever is greater.

The individual installation steps, assuming a typical interior application, would be as follows:

• Prepare window area by protecting flooring, window coverings and furnishings with drop cloths and plastic. Move any nearby furniture
• Thoroughly clean interior side of glass pane and gaskets with a mild cleaning solution and water to remove dirt and other residue
• Wet glass with a mild soap solution
• Place film against glass
• Squeegee out excess solution between glass and film
• Trim film to window
• Thoroughly press film edges to ensure film lies flat
• Inspect and wipe film to ensure clean finished product
• Remove drop cloths and plastic, replace furniture to original positions

No. Our high-quality 3M™ window films, including our commercial-grade products, are non-metalized. This means they will not block or interfere with your building's Wi-Fi, GPS, or cellular signals.

For Texas heat, ceramic window tint is the top performer. Unlike traditional dyed or metalized films, ceramic tints use advanced nano-ceramic technology to block significant solar heat, up to 60% or more, without darkening your windows or interfering with electronic signals. At Premier Window Tinting, we recommend 3M™ Ceramic Series and 3M™ Crystalline films, which offer industry-leading heat rejection while maintaining excellent visibility and clarity. For homeowners and businesses dealing with San Antonio's intense summers, these films are the gold standard.

Absolutely. Ceramic window tint offers superior heat rejection, UV blocking (up to 99.9%), and glare reduction compared to standard dyed or carbon films, and it does all this without interfering with GPS, cell signals, or electronic devices. While it comes at a higher price point than entry-level options, the long-term savings on energy bills and added comfort make it a worthwhile investment for most San Antonio homeowners, businesses, and vehicle owners. It also maintains its color and clarity far longer than basic films, making it excellent long-term value.

Installation time varies depending on the scope of the project. For a standard vehicle, most auto tint installations are completed within 1.5 to 3 hours. Residential window tinting for a typical home can take anywhere from a few hours to a full day, depending on the number of windows. Commercial projects vary based on building size. After installation, we recommend allowing the film to cure for 2–5 days before cleaning your windows, some temporary haziness or small water bubbles may appear during this period, which is completely normal and will clear up on their own.

Yes, window tinting is legal in Texas, but state law sets specific limits on darkness levels. For passenger vehicles, Texas requires:

• Windshield: Non-reflective tint allowed on the top 5 inches only
• Front side windows: Must allow more than 25% of light in (25% VLT minimum)
• Back side windows & rear window: Any darkness level is permitted
• Reflectivity: Must not exceed 25% on any window

Medical exemptions are available for drivers with certain conditions. At Premier Window Tinting, our installers are fully familiar with Texas tint laws and will ensure your installation stays completely street legal.

With quality film and professional installation, window tint can last 10–20 years or more. Standard dyed films may begin to fade or bubble after 5–10 years, while premium options like 3M™ Ceramic and Crystalline films are engineered for long-term durability. At Premier Window Tinting, our 3M™ films are backed by a lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking, and discoloration, so you can count on lasting performance and protection. Proper care, such as avoiding abrasive cleaners and waiting a few days before cleaning after installation, also helps maximize the lifespan of your tint.
